Mr. Patterson is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Pega Business Architect (CPBA), Certified SAFe® Agilist and SAFe 6 Practitioner, and ITIL v3 certified, with more than two decades of IT project-management experience. To spearhead Goodfire's evolution from pure Agile consulting into AI-enabled transformation, he has invested heavily in AI education. He holds a certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management's "Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy" program, which teaches executives the fundamentals of machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics, and provides practical guidance on using generative AI tools ethically and developing tailored AI roadmaps for organizations.

Mr. Patterson also completed Dr. Marily Nika's Advanced AI Product Leadership Certification and AI Product Management 101 courses. These cohort-based programs — taught by Silicon Valley AI leaders — are designed to prepare experienced professionals to staff and lead AI product teams. Participants learn how to integrate AI into product strategy, navigate ethical and regulatory issues, understand foundation models and large language models, evaluate trade-offs between different AI/ML approaches, and become AI thought leaders.
