Barbara App
Here's a complete privacy policy for Barbara. You'll need to host it at a public URL (see hosting options below):
Privacy Policy — Barbara
Effective Date: March 3, 2026
Barbara ("the App") is designed to help you navigate the practical and emotional steps following the death of a loved one. Your privacy is fundamental to how the App was built.
What Information We Collect
None.
Barbara does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information. The App requires no account, no login, and no registration.
All data you enter into Barbara — including the name of your loved one, your relationship to them, your faith tradition selection, and your checklist progress — is stored exclusively on your device using iOS's built-in local storage (NSUserDefaults). This data never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.
Third-Party Services
Barbara does not integrate with any analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers.
When you tap an external link within the App (such as a resource link or crisis helpline website), you will be directed to that third-party website via your device's built-in browser. Those websites are governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. Barbara has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites.
When you use the "Talk to Someone" feature to place a phone call or send a text message, that action is handled entirely by your device's built-in Phone and Messages apps. Barbara does not log, record, or transmit any information related to those calls or messages.
Children's Privacy
Barbara is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Given that no data is collected from any user, no special handling for children's data is required.
Data Security
Because Barbara stores all data locally on your device, your data is protected by your device's own security features, including passcode and biometric authentication if enabled.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
